Rachel Allen - Pottery

Rachel grew up in Holland, NY and moved to Brooklyn to attend Pratt Institute. She majored in Painting, but ended up spending most of her time in the ceramics studio. Thankfully, she got a job there working under Patrick Purcell, who is an amazing ceramic artist. He made her realize that a good bowl does more than just hold something and look pretty. There is an art to making something truly functional. A spoon and bowl have to work together. A cup has to fit your hand in a way that makes it easy to hold. The details are what either makes or ruins your work. Let her know what you think!
